Our Base Ingredients
At Fancy Free Farms, we believe what goes into your products matters just as much as how they feel on your skin. Every ingredient we use is thoughtfully chosen with care—for your body, your home, and the land it comes from. We work exclusively with certified sustainable, organic ingredients, sourcing a blend of responsibly wild-harvested botanicals and plants we grow ourselves. This hands-on approach allows us to stay deeply connected to every step of the process, from soil to finished product.
From the Ground Up
Our formulations begin with high-quality oils, which serve as the foundation of many of our soaps, skincare, and herbal preparations. Oils are rich in nourishing fatty acids and vitamins, helping to cleanse, moisturize, and support healthy skin and hair. Each oil brings its own unique properties—some create a rich, bubbly lather, while others offer deep hydration or a silky, conditioning feel.
We pair these with luxurious plant butters, such as shea, cocoa, and mango butter. Butters are thicker and more concentrated than oils, providing intense moisture and creating a protective barrier that helps lock hydration into the skin. They also contribute to the firmness and longevity of products like soap bars and balms.
Many of our products feature herbal oil infusions, where botanicals are slowly steeped in oil to gently extract their beneficial properties. This traditional method allows us to capture the essence of plants—like calming florals or skin-soothing herbs—without harsh processing, preserving their natural goodness.
For structure and finish, we incorporate natural waxes, each chosen for its specific qualities. Beeswax, a time-honored favorite, provides a protective, breathable barrier and a subtle natural scent. Soy wax offers a clean-burning, plant-based alternative often used in candles and softer formulations. Palm wax, when sustainably sourced, creates a firm texture and beautiful crystalline appearance, making it ideal for certain specialty products.
Pure & Intentional
Every ingredient we use has a purpose, and nothing is added without intention. The result is a collection of products that are simple, effective, and rooted in nature—just the way it should be.
From the oils that nourish and cleanse, to the butters that protect and restore, to the botanicals that gently support the skin, each element is selected for its unique role. If it doesn’t benefit the product—or you—it simply doesn’t make the cut.
At the end of the day, our goal is simple: to create products that are honest, effective, and rooted in nature. No unnecessary extras—just pure, intentional craftsmanship you can feel good about using every day.

Additive Ingredients
Beyond our base oils, butters, and waxes, we thoughtfully incorporate a wide range of natural additives to bring each product to life. These ingredients do more than enhance appearance—they add character, function, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
Botanicals with Purpose
Our blends often include herbs, flowers, and other botanicals, chosen for their traditional uses and gentle benefits. Some are wild-harvested with care, others are grown right here on our farm, and the rest are sourced organically from trusted, sustainable suppliers. Whether it’s soothing calendula petals, aromatic lavender buds, or grounding plant materials, each addition is selected with intention.
Clays and mineral-rich muds are another cornerstone of our formulations. These earth-derived ingredients help to gently cleanse, draw out impurities, and add a smooth, silky feel to soaps and skincare. From soft, creamy clays to deeply purifying muds, they provide both function and a natural, understated color.
We also incorporate teas and herbal infusions, using them in place of water or as concentrated extracts. This allows us to layer in additional plant benefits while creating subtle, natural tones and aromas that reflect the ingredients themselves.
Naturally Beautiful
For color, we rely on nature. Botanical powders, roots, spices, and clays provide a beautiful range of hues—from soft creams and earthy browns to muted greens and warm golden tones. Because these colors come from real plants and minerals, they may vary slightly from batch to batch—a reflection of nature’s authenticity that we embrace.
Spices and other plant-based additives are used sparingly but purposefully, adding gentle exfoliation, warmth, or visual interest. Nothing is included just for show—every element plays a role in the overall experience.
As with all of our ingredients, our additives are carefully selected to align with our commitment to sustainability, quality, and simplicity. The result is products that feel as natural as they are effective, with every detail rooted in thoughtful craftsmanship.
